Where to find terms of use for a journal

Terms of use vary from journal to journal, to verify the terms of use for a specific journal, follow these steps:

  1. From the homepage of the Library, click on E-Journals in the Quick Links menu. 
  2. Type the name of the journal in the search box
  3. Click on Terms of Use link beside the title of the journal

       4. The terms of use will be presented in a table, see an example below.

ILL General Permitted  
ILL Secure Electronic Permitted  
Course Reserve Permitted  
Electronic Link Permitted delete all copies when no longer used- must not be retained longer than 1 year
Course Pack Electronic Permitted  

License term definitions

License term Definition
Authorized users Undergraduates, Residents, Faculty, Staff
ILL general Interlibrary loan delivered to the user in paper form
ILL secure electronic Interlibrary loan delivered to the user as a PDF
Course reserve Item may be included in a course reserve
Electronic link A link to the item may be used or shared
Course pack electronic Item may be included in an electronic course pack
Course pack print Item may be included in a print course pack
