During the month of November, we ran a #Movemberatthelibrary contest:
27 new chairs were purchased for the Lakehead campus, vastly improving comfort and streamlining the footprint.
A Teknion glass wall was installed behind the Information desk at the Laurentian campus. As a way to address persistent complaints about noise levels, the glass wall creates an enclosed work space for the staff behind the Info desk. People studying are less affected by the normal library work happening behind the glass wall.
Food for Fines allows library users to donate non-perishable food items in exchange for their overdue fines. Each food item correlates to $2.00 in waived overdue fines. The event is held in May to coincide with convocation, to provide an opportunity for students to settle their outstanding library fines prior to graduation. We forgave $46.50 in fines.
