Copyright Services

Copyright requests involve a combination of the following:

  1. Working with requestor(s) to determine and articulate the uses they want to make of copyright protected materials.
  2. Determining what could be reproduced given existing e-licenses/Access Copyright/Copyright Act provisions.
  3. Locating copyright holders in cases where permission needs to be requested.
  4. Working with requestor(s) to communicate with copyright holders.
  5. Answering general copyright questions and questions about copyright as they relate to interlibrary loan practices or the Health Sciences Library’s reserve collection.

In addition, seven copyright consultations were conducted and two educational sessions about the basics of copyright were delivered upon the request of the Continuing Education and Professional Development and the Active Learning units.

Research Support Tools

Faculty Publications Project

We conduct the annual faculty publications search (approx 1350 faculty) and maintain a citation database beginning with the year 2003 to current.

A final report is submitted to the Associate Dean Research, and also to the Faculty Affairs Unit.
